Wake up for you!

Getting up and going has been especially difficult during the COVID quarantine for a lot of us. For non-essential workers, we no longer have to go into an office at a set time and some have little reason to get fully dressed. As someone who is self-employed and often working from home, the struggle is nothing new.

What’s helped me is working first thing on a project that excites me more than anything else. It’s my project, no one is making me do it. I’m excited when I wake up because I can’t wait to get started.

For my wife, it is drinking coffee, journaling, and reading in silence.

When we wake up just in time for work, it takes us twice as long to get going. Or nowadays to our son yelling in his crib wondering why he hasn’t eaten yet. Who wants to wake up to that?

Challenge: Don’t wait for someone else’s agenda to wake up.
